About the .45 ACP Cartridge

Cartridge Development:

The .45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol), also known as .45 Auto, was designed by John Moses Browning in 1904 for use in his prototype semi-automatic Colt pistol. Following successful military trials, it was adopted as the standard cartridge for the Colt M1911 pistol and the Thompson submachine gun.

Cartridge Use:

This cartridge was actively used during both World Wars, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, and it remains part of the standard armament of the U.S. military.
