About the 8x56 R Mannlicher Cartridge

Development of the Cartridge:

The 8x56 R Mannlicher is a rifle cartridge originating from Austria. It was introduced into the Austrian army in 1930 and the Hungarian army in 1931. Originally created for the Steyr-Solothurn light machine gun as M30, it was later adopted for rifles in 1931 as M31 to replace the 8x50mmR Mannlicher cartridge for bolt-action rifles like the M95.

Cartridge Composition and Manufacture:

Historically produced mostly in FMJ version, today sometimes available with SP hunting bullet.

About the Keychain:

Who Will Appreciate the Cartridge?

This cartridge will particularly appeal to those involved in Austrian reenactment. Additionally, it is a suitable cartridge for ammunition collectors or collectors of repeating rifles.

Compatible Weapons Examples:

Mannlicher M1891 Rifle, Mannlicher M95 Rifle

Keychain Construction and Care:

The keychain loop is lathe-turned from brass and firmly pressed into the base of the casing at the primer position, ensuring waterproofness and distinguishing it from most competing products. Brass parts can be polished with a brass surface restoration product like Sidol.
